Today on Business RockstarsKen Rutkowski talks with Jim Goodman, who registered and developed the first generation of Ticketmaster Online, which led to the launch of the original Ticketmaster Online in 1994.

Jim Goodman started in the entertainment industry at Ticketmaster, where his clients included The Grateful Dead, Goldenvoice, Cirque du Soleil as well as numerous other venues, promoters and sports franchises (Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Ducks, Dodgers and Angels). Goodman’s expertise also includes mega-events, having run all ticketing and venues for World Cup USA ’94 and the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002.

Subsequently he went on to be a single digit employee at Tickets.com (one of Ticketmaster’s largest competitors and a startup from Bill Gross’s Idealab! in Pasadena), where he was VP of Product Development and later VP of Strategy, responsible for and assisting in the roll-up of several ticketing companies and the merger of Tickets.com with Advantix (which later went public and was then acquired).

Mr. Goodman is a founding partner of Applied Ambiguities which developed the award winning mobile application, Cor.kz. Goodman’s consulting company, Breakstone Works, works with large corporations as well startups in an advisory role, assisting several of them with successful exit transactions. Goodman is an avid foodie, wine collector and traveller.
